Study on TV ad spots in first 2 weeks of campaign

MANILA, Philippines -- The circus is on TV, and is costing senatorial candidates lots of money.

If you regularly watch news programs, you have probably seen the political ads of Surigao del Sur Rep. Prospero Pichay, a senatorial candidate of the administration’s Team Unity.

A study by Nielsen Media Research Philippines (NMRP) found that Pichay had spent the most (some P33 million) for TV ad spots in the first two weeks of the campaign.

The campaign period for senatorial candidates began on Feb. 13. (Read full story)
