Exporters' fair at Market! Market! slated Aug. 31-Sept. 3

THE CHRISTMAS Décor Producers & Exporters Association of the Philippines (CDPEAP)is slated to showcase the best of the country's holiday decors, fashion accessories and other export-quality products in the first-ever Exporters' Fair on Aug. 31 to Sept. 3 at the 3rd Floor Trade Hall of Market!Market! in Taguig City.

The 4-day retail festival dubbed as Ang Galing! Exporters' Fair gives Filipino buyers a sneak preview of the latest home decors that are now creating raves especially in Europe and the United States. Philippine-made decors and furniture are known to invade the homes of international celebrities.

Aside from holiday decors and fashion accessories, the fair will also feature the latest designs in jewelry, home furnishings and organic and wellness products. It will also feature step-by-step learning sessions where participants are taught how to do their own decorations.

“We want to give our kababayans the first glimpse of what we have. Philippine-made decors are getting more and more popular overseas. We Filipinos are known for our creativity and craftsmanship,” says CDPEAP president Marlane Villa-Real.

Last year, the Philippines exported over US$59-million worth of holiday decors mostly to the US and Europe. The US is the single largest market for Philippine holiday decors, accounting for US$28-million or almost half of the total sales last year.

Aptly dubbed as Ang Galing!, the exporters' fair also serves as a tribute to the creativity and ingenuity of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

About 100 exhibitors are expected to join the trade fair. Among these are Buena Mano Crafts; Syms Like Christmas; Aromaphil; Balasi Handicrafts; CSM; Joami; Yab Designs; Bonus Pottery; member-companies of industry associations like Cebu-GTH (gifts, toys and houseware); Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation, Inc.; Virgin Coconut Oil Philippines Inc; and Food Entrepreneurs & Exporters of the Philippines.

CDPEAP's Exporters' Fair was conceived to answer the clamor of local consumers for a chance to buy quality decors and accessories mostly manufactured for export, as well as to provide a venue for exporters to showcase their creativity in decors and accessories design.

Timed at the onset of the “ber” months, the fair gives consumers a good venue to buy Christmas decors and gift items before the Christmas rush.
